Pablo Mora, MD, Authors Two Articles in The Lancet on Zenagamtide

Pablo Mora, MD, is the lead author of two new articles published in The Lancet. The articles report Phase 2 results for zenagamtide, a novel unimolecular GLP-1 and amylin receptor agonist being studied in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Across cohorts, both once-weekly subcutaneous and once-daily oral formulations produced substantial improvements in glycemic control and body weight. At week 36, the highest subcutaneous dose produced estimated mean reductions from baseline of 1.71 percentage points in HbA1c and 14.6% in body weight. The oral formulation produced reductions of up to 1.5 percentage points in HbA1c and 10.1% in body weight.

Congratulations to Dr. Mora, Novo Nordisk, and the study team on this contribution to diabetes and cardiometabolic research!
