Amor Mehta, MD, is a dual board-certified neurologist and epileptologist, Principal Investigator, and founder of the Neurology Center for Epilepsy and Seizures. With 15+ years of clinical experience and specialized adult and pediatric epilepsy training, he supports CNS and neurology studies requiring subspecialty expertise, rater quality, and diagnostic capability.

Dr. Mehta founded an epilepsy medical home model of care and previously developed the only accredited National Association of Epilepsy Centers Level 3 Epilepsy Center in Ocean County, New Jersey.

Amor Mehta, MD

Amor Mehta, MD, is dual-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology and epilepsy and is one of the country’s first board-certified epileptologists. As a Principal Investigator, he brings 15+ years of clinical experience, specialized epilepsy expertise, and a practical focus on comprehensive neurological care.

Dr. Mehta earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed internship training in internal medicine and neurology at Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, followed by general neurology residency at New York University School of Medicine.

He completed NYU School of Medicine’s epilepsy program, with training in adult and pediatric epilepsy and seizure disorders, and completed fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology-EEG. Following fellowship, he served as an adult and pediatric epileptologist and neurologist at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Saint Barnabas.

While at Saint Barnabas, Dr. Mehta founded the Adult and Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey. Within one year, he developed the unit into the only accredited National Association of Epilepsy Centers Level 3 Epilepsy Center in Ocean County.

In 2018, Dr. Mehta founded the Neurology Center for Epilepsy and Seizures, a center focused on epilepsy, seizure disorders, and other neurological conditions. His practice reflects an epilepsy medical home model designed to bring related services and diagnostic testing together in one setting.
