Dr. Hussain Malbari grew up in Houston, TX in the SW community of Alief where he graduated from Alief Taylor High School and excelled on both the varsity tennis and debate teams. He attended The University of Texas at Austin where he studied psychology and chemistry.
After graduating from UT Austin in 2008, Dr. Malbari returned to Houston and began his career as a clinical research coordinator at a North Houston family practice clinic. After gaining some essential skills and experience in patient care, he attended Ross University School of Medicine and graduated in 2015. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in downtown Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Malbari accepted a hospitalist position with St. David’s Medical Center and returned to Austin, TX in the summer of 2018.
Dr. Malbari has an extensive background in clinical research from the experience he gained as a coordinator and is excited to join Tekton as an investigator. In addition to specializing in acute inpatient care, his passions include patient education, preventive medicine, and teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
Dr. Malbari enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, frequenting restaurants, and playing tennis as often as he can.
