How Clinical Trials Are Powering the Future of Alzheimer’s Care

Alzheimer’s Disease remains one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. Affecting over 6 million Americans, this progressive neurological disorder not only takes a profound toll on individuals and their families–it also places a significant burden on healthcare systems worldwide. While there is no cure yet, hope is on the horizon–and clinical trials are playing a pivotal role in driving that hope forward.

At Tekton Research, we are committed to advancing the science of Alzheimer's treatment through clinical research. Our work with leading neurologists, dedicated investigators, and innovative partners is helping to push the boundaries of what’s possible in brain health.

Why New Alzheimer's Treatments Are Needed

Alzheimer’s disease is complicated. Scientists know it involves changes in the brain, such as the buildup of amyloid plaques, tangles of tau protein, and inflammation. Because so many different things are happening at once, one single treatment may not be enough. Most experts believe there is a need for a combination of approaches to make a real difference–and many of those are still being tested.

That’s where clinical trials come in. Each trial represents a carefully designed step forward, testing new compounds, delivery methods, diagnostic tools, and preventative strategies. Clinical research is the bridge between promising science and accessible care.

Experts Leading the Way in Alzheimer's Research

Tekton Research is proud to support a strong network of principal investigators who bring deep clinical expertise to the field of neurology and psychiatry.

One of them is Dr. Ernest Graypel, Board-Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology with over 20 years of experience and 16 publications, including two presented internationally and his authored reference text, Graypel’s Review of Dementias and Adult Cognitive Impairments for Non-Psychiatrists. Dr. Graypel specializes in psychiatric conditions, including Alzheimer’s Disease. His commitment to improving outcomes for participants facing cognitive and psychiatric conditions is evident in the work he carries out.

Tekton currently operates 25 sites–3 fully equipped to conduct Alzheimer’s Disease studies, bringing access to cutting-edge research opportunities to communities across the country. These sites are supported by skilled teams supporting specialized protocols unique to neurodegenerative studies.

The Role of Clinical Trial Participants

None of this progress is possible without the courage of clinical trial participants and the trust of their families. By participating, volunteers help pave the way for treatment that may benefit future generations.

At Tekton Research, we strive to make that process as compassionate, respectful, and informative as possible. From eligibility screening to post-trial follow-up, our teams are committed to supporting every participant on their journey.

Alzheimer's Research: Looking Ahead

As we look into the future, Tekton Research remains at the forefront of Alzheimer’s research. With a growing site network, esteemed investigators, and a passion for Making Life Better, we’re helping to build a future where better outcomes are within reach.

We believe in the power of clinical trials–not just to test new treatments, but to transform lives. The future of Alzheimer’s care is being built today, and research is the foundation.
